Cholesterol-Lowering Drugs
Cholesterol-lowering drugs are used to treat individuals who have higher-than-normal levels
of cholesterol in their blood. Drugs in this
family are prescribed to reduce the risk for
cardiovascular disease or death associated with
atherosclerosis, when diet restriction, lifestyle changes, and weight reduction are insufficient.
